WMM’s “Other” Ministry
By Sam Nadler
Our “Other” Ministry
People who are familiar with Word of Messiah Ministries (WMM) sometimes overlook the “other” vital ministry of WMM. Since our ministry is known world-wide as a Jewish evangelism and Messianic Congregation planting mission, many are surprised to learn that we also do speaking engagements with 50 to 100 churches throughout the year, in addition to our main and better- known ministry activities. Though I spend 6 days a week working for the salvation of Israel, I’m asking my spiritual family to pray for these church-speaking engagements on Sundays.
Our “Sunday Mission Statement”
WMM has a “Sunday Mission Statement,” that is, to bring the great burden of God’s heart for the lost sheep of the House of Israel to all believers in the greater body of Messiah. In proclaiming this burden of God’s heart, I am also proclaiming His word with all my heart. There is a vital reason for this, just as it is laid out in the Bible. Paul profoundly understood God’s redemptive plan of Salvation and carefully laid it out in Romans, most specifically in chapter 11. Paul’s great desire was to hasten the Second Coming of Messiah, in order to bring about the exaltation of Yeshua among Israel and all the nations. But he also understood the Second Coming can only take place when national Israel repents of its unbelief in Yeshua, and confesses Him as Lord. That is why Romans 11:26 tells us, “… and so all Israel will be saved.” That same verse also states, “as it is written, The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will banish ungodliness from Jacob.” Thus when national Israel trusts in Yeshua, He will return to earth “from [heavenly] Zion” to sit on His glorious throne in Jerusalem (Matt. 25:31). For in that day the Bible declares, “The stone that the builders rejected shall become the chief of the corner” (Ps.. 118:22). In that day we will also declare, “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps.. 118:23-24). Messiah’s return is tied to Israel’s repentance, for Yeshua Himself said to Israel, “You will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord’” (Matt. 23:39).
Goal is to Encourage Gentile Outreach to the Jewish Community
But what will encourage Israel to trust in Yeshua as Messiah and Lord? The faithful Gentile believers in Yeshua are God’s ‘secret weapon’ for the redemption of Israel! Romans 11:11 instructs us, “Salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.” This is also the fulfillment of the Gentile’s calling (i.e., “the fullness of the Gentiles,” in Romans 11:25). However, the enemy’s hindrances through false teaching, anti-Jewish attitudes and actions have not only hidden the message of Messiah from the Jewish people, but from the Gentile believers as well. As many of you may already know, most Gentiles do not know of their divine calling to bring the Good News “to the Jew first,” as Paul instructs in Romans 1:16. God has no plan B! It is the Lord’s will and calling for Gentile believers to love, pray and effectively reach out with the Good News to the Jewish communities around the world. This is why WMM is planting Messianic congregations worldwide whose members include both Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles, together being a witness to the greater Jewish communities around them.
Recently, I was privileged to teach at a wonderful church regarding “Messiah’s Hanukkah Message” from John 10:22-30. There were about a half dozen people that responded to the invitation to trust in Yeshua as Savior and Lord. However, many more of the people there became burdened to bring the Good News to their Jewish neighbors, coworkers and friends. I see this happening every Sunday! Yes, Gentile believers are ‘discovering’ their divine calling to love, pray and effectively reach out even “to the Jew first” as well as to the Gentiles. In fact, it is from our “other” ministry that many of you became recipients of our monthly newsletter. So please pray for WMM’s Sunday ministry, even as you are faithfully praying for our main efforts in Jewish evangelism and Messianic congregation planting, both here and around the world.
