Upon my landing in Ukraine, I was met by a wonderful and faithful messianic couple, Boris and Natasha*, who I’ve known and worked with for 17 years. Boris handled the arrangements for the conference and took charge of recording the 12 hours of teaching that was made available to the leaders and many other believers who attended from around Ukraine and elsewhere. |

Natasha who is an excellent
translator, translated not only for all the teaching sessions, but also
for the personal discussion times that involved many hours of questions.
On Friday night we arrived in Zhitomir spending time with the local Messianic leaders, learning about the work of the ministry, and the needs that were most critical for them. Shabbat morning found the congregation swelling to 150+ people with many extra visitors who came for the teaching. At the Shabbat service, I taught from Psalm 122:6. I concluded by stating that one reason many do not pray for Jerusalem’s peace is because they are unable to pray for the peace of Jerusalem! You can’t pray for others to have God’s true peace if you haven’t yet received His peace through the Prince of Peace. At the invitation I was greatly encouraged to see three people trust in Yeshua as their Lord, and their Prince of Peace.
Developing Leaders I spent private time with some leaders on marriage counseling and parenting issues. They enthusiastically received our evangelistic and discipleship books translated into Russian as we gave a set of books to each leader.
I was told that the leadership wanted
to start in Zhitomir a school for training messianic pastors, and
they’ve asked if I would come and teach. Several other leaders asked if
I could come to each of their congregations and provide teaching,
instruction and training for them, their elders and their people. It was
very heartening to hear of their desire to have more teaching so I would
ask you to pray with me for the Lord to guide and provide and show us
how to plan in the coming year.
