How to Know Your Sins are Forgiven

"The Gospel According to David"

David, King of Israel once wrote, "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.  Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit"  (Psalm 32:1,2).

Many people believe that God grades us on some sort of a scale, weighing our 'good' against our 'bad'.  However, David, in the above verse speaks of being forgiven, sin being covered,  G-d not counting (impute) our sins against us, and how blessed it is to be such a person.

The Bible gives us the certainty that our sins are completely forgiven in Messiah, and that in Him we have the gift of eternal life.  You can, right now, know  your eternal destiny, by placing your faith in Messiah Yeshua, and His finished work He accomplished in His death.

As David also wrote in Psalm 2...

"Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.  I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.  Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.  You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.' Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling.  Kiss (honor) the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."

Again, David speaks of the blessedness of the person who puts their trust in "the Son", "the King", "the Lord", rather than trusting in themselves.

Concerning the idea of 'the Son of G-d', Agur, the writer of the proverb penned...

"Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, If you know?"  (Proverbs 30:4).

Yochannan (John) wrote..." And this is the testimony: that G-d has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of G-d does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of G-d, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of G-d" (1 John 5:11-13).

The New Covenant Believer is justified (forgiven) in the same manner Father Abraham was, by faith in what G-d has told us...

"And he (Abraham) believed in the LORD, and He (G-d) accounted it to him (Abraham) for righteousness" (Genesis 15:6).

"For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.
3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.  5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness..."  (Romans 4:2-5).

Yeshua said... "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life (John 6:47).

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life"  (John 5:24).

...and "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out"  (John 6:37).

This also is what David believed.  To cry out to G-d for forgiveness based on the mercy of G-d in Messiah, rather than David's own righteousness...

"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin" (Psalm 51:1,2).

You too can trust Messiah and be blessed by G-d, far above your greatest expectations.  Simply, turn to Him today, turn from your sins and cry out to Him.  He has promised to hear your prayer.

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3).

"Whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved" (Joel 2:32).

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:6).

Now, take a walk on "Isaiah Avenue".  Shalom.
