Men as warriors for God! |

Earlier this month a number of
‘Messianic men’ from across the Carolinas gathered at Ridgecrest
Conference Center in the Blue Ridge Mountains for the 2005 Second Annual
Messianic Men’s Retreat. Exceptionally fine weather, along with the
splendid autumn colors provided an inspiring backdrop for men to learn
more about growing as “Warriors for the Lord.” The speakers were Stewart
Weinisch (Charleston, SC), Seth Postell (Raleigh, NC), and Bill Merhtens
(Charlotte, NC) and myself. Our theme gave the men focus on the
importance of sound teaching regarding spiritual warfare, and how to
stand in the gap in our personal lives and for our families. This is
what the Lord has saved and ‘recruited’ us for. |

A great portion of the time was set aside for prayer, as men gathered in twos and threes throughout the weekend to pray for one another and their respective families. On occasion different groups of men hiked to beautiful surrounding mountain areas to pray together. The brilliant reds and yellows at this change of season was all the more encouraging for us to look to our Creator Who “made all things good.” | ||||||||

Some commented, “This conference was just what I
needed. Refreshing.” “The fellowship was encouraging, I made new
friends, I was challenged by the teaching, and the food was great! We
just needed an extra day.” At conference end many of the men rededicated their lives to “fight the good fight” as ‘Warriors for the Lord.’ Be sure to make plans to attend our Men’s Conference next year for a life changing event! |
