Think about your favorite celebration or holiday. Is it Thanksgiving dinner or a picnic on the 4th of July? What makes these holidays special is the fact that family and friends are gathered together. That is exactly what the Hope of Israel sisterhood did for this Fall Feast season. Let me ask you a question. How many of you have your datebook or your Blackberry with you wherever you go so you won’t forget your appointments? |

Of course, we do not want to miss that special anniversary dinner, or appointment with the doctor that took months to schedule. These meetings are vital and sometimes life changing. Guess what: God has something for us to put in our date books. In fact, it is a yearly occurrence. In Leviticus 23 we find God’s Appointed Times. |

These are times that we better not miss because He desires to meet with His redeemed people. And that’s exactly why the ladies of Hope of Israel Congregation hosted a workshop where we could help women from the community learn more about why we need to celebrate. |

What a joyous time we had in a beautiful park setting with an amazing Sukkah built just for our workshop which served as a visual reminder of God’s protection. About 130 women from 11 different churches came together to understand the relevance of God’s appointment calendar for our lives. The two hours of music, food, teaching and fellowship flew by as we rejoiced in the God of Israel. We considered from the Scriptures the importance of meeting with God at the times that He has ordained. We realized anew that our intimate relationship with the Lord can be deepened, as we see His purposes revealed through the feasts days. I am eagerly awaiting for that day when we will celebrate together with Messiah in His Kingdom. Y |
